Oof, right in the noggin!
You know, there’s some cold comfort in knowing that even the full technological prowess of the ryka doesn’t protect single individuals of their kind from acts of blatant stupidity. Although, of course, Fris himself wasn’t necessarily the sharpest cookie in the fire to begin with.
Let’s see how he recovers from this humiliation, and how much Avie will tear into him for this fumble…
Website-Exclusive Author’s Note:
Eh, this one would have been fine if it hadn’t taken me almost three weeks to complete it.
Of course, I didn’t actually work on this thing for a full three weeks. Nah, we’re looking at about 5-ish days of work here, and honestly, those 5 days weren’t even remotely as work-packed as they could have been.
Once again, my inability of piecemealing my work has proven to be my biggest hurdle in the creation of this page. If I could simply find the inner strength to work on my stuff one bit at a time for several days in a row, I honestly could have had this thing be done about a week ago. But, you know how this goes.
Anyway, the final end-result is… fine? I guess? A bit bland, but not horribly offensive or anything. There was actually a fair bit of repeated redrafting on panels 1 and 3, making the end result a fair bit better looking than I had originally planned. You see, originally, panel 1 was supposed to be a direct rear-shot, and panel 3 would have been a direct side shot.
However, for the first time in my life, I actually took my previously stated advice to heart and actually searched for less static and more interesting angles. I think both panels turned out better for it!
Apart from my perspective struggles, however, there’s not much for me to talk about, I believe. Colors and anatomy are fine, I suppose. Line art is about the same as on the last few pages. I fucked up Fris’s face on p3 a little bit, it appearing tilted down and straight both at the same time, but that’s just about the most offensive part of this page. Other than that, I think I’m fine with just calling it a wrap and moving on to the next page.
Onwards!
